A token mechanic

Hello,
This one is only a mechanic.

The game is played with Othello tokens.
Ask how the tone changes, select one contribution, pay the contributor one white token.
Ask how your character passes an obstacle, select one contribution, pay the contributor one black token.
Ask a leading question (weaponized content), select one contribution, pay the contributor 1 "appropriate" token, they flip it to white anyway.
Block content that doesn't fit the tone or setting you want, ask for a "scrutiny/investigation", select one contribution, pay the contributor 1 token, they flip it to white if the content is blocked, black if it is not.

Is model in the vanilla-est possible way interactions regarding Content and Meaning.
I plan to feed genre/tone/stakes token flux into an Otherkind mechanic. That is : have a global "Otherkind pattern" (like every Otherkind hack), and alter it locally with tokens. This represents Themes and dramatic threads. Otherkind pattern altered during game : taming Ghost/Echo chaos.

The original Otherkinds does this. It has radiance, connection to life, iron, and moonlight.

I am pretty sure Sign In Stranger has "tokens" (but I haven't looked at it in a long time, so I might be mis-remembering completely)

You should also look at Mesopotamians by Nick Wedig

Sign in stranger uses connexions, it's a bit different but very interesting.

And Mesopotamians is exactly what I was after ! The Otherkind pattern directly links success, tone, narrative threads.
