Character Creation

Step 1. Choose whether your character is an adult, a child, or a dog. If you want to select randomly, roll a die. On a 1-3, you’re a child. On a 4 or 5, you’re an adult. On a 6, you’re a dog. There should probably be at least 1 adult in every game. If everyone ended up with a child or a dog, consider choosing again. Make a note of this on an index card that will contain your character information. I like to orient them horizontally and use a black pen to distinguish from the other card that will be on the table.

Step 2. Collect your resources.
● Adults get 2 Skills and 2 Gear
● Children get 1 Wonder, 1 Skill, and 2 Gear
● Dogs get 3 Wonder
Take an index card for each resource your character has and note the type of resource along the top. I like to orient these vertically and use a red pen for Gear, a blue pen for Skill, and a green pen for Wonder. Pile Gear cards in the center of the table where everyone can reach them. Keep Skill and Wonder cards by your Character card.

Step 3. Select a goal for your character that reflects the kinds of memories they want to come home with. Choose your goal from the following examples or make one up that the rest of your table accepts.
Adult goals
● Memories that prove your competence
● Memories of bonding with family
Child goals
● Memories that prove your maturity to your crush
● Memories of discovery
